Terms and conditions

• You need to be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account.
• Use a real email address and keep it up to date: we send confirmation links, receipts and important notices there.
• Keep your password to yourself, and turn on two-factor authentication for extra protection. You’re responsible for what happens in your account.
• An account is for one person. Don’t share a login; plans with team seats are how several people use one plan.
• If you think someone else got into your account, tell us right away at support email.

LongFormat is sold as monthly or yearly plans, with prices on our pricing page. Payments are handled by our checkout partner, Whop, and Whop’s own terms also apply when you pay.

• Each plan comes with credits, which you spend on the videos you make.
• When a video starts, its credits are held, and you pay only for the minutes actually made.
• If a video fails, or we can’t make its topic, all of its credits come back to your account. If you stop a video after its script is written, 20% of its credits pay for the research and writing.
• Unused credits roll over while your subscription stays active.
• Credits have no cash value, and can’t be sold, transferred or exchanged for money.
• Plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.

You can cancel any time. You keep your plan and your remaining credits until the end of the billing period you’ve paid for, and you won’t be charged again.

Except where the law says otherwise, payments aren’t refunded once a billing period has started. Credits for failed videos always come back to your account, as described above.

If a payment is refunded, the credits it added are removed. If you dispute a payment with your bank, we may freeze your account until the dispute is resolved.

LongFormat is built for original, factual and creative long-form videos. You agree not to create, upload or publish anything that:

• breaks the law, or infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights, such as song lyrics;
• shows real, identifiable people in realistic scenes that never happened, or puts invented quotes in their mouths;
• is about a private individual, rather than a public figure or a matter of public record;
• is sexual, or involves minors in stories about crime or sex;
• promotes hatred or violence, or harasses, threatens or defames anyone;
• gives dangerous instructions, or spreads misinformation;
• copies another creator’s videos or scripts, or passes off their work as yours.

Don’t misuse the service either: don’t try to break or overload it, get around its limits or safety checks, get into other people’s accounts, or copy, scrape or resell LongFormat itself.

We may refuse a topic, stop a generation or remove content that breaks these rules.

You keep all rights to what you bring to LongFormat, such as your topics, scripts and uploads. You give us permission to store and process it only to run the service and make your videos. If you bring your own script, make sure you have the right to use it.

The videos you make are yours to download, edit and publish, including on YouTube. Some parts come from third parties, such as licensed stock footage and the AI models we use, and their licenses and terms apply to those parts. When you publish, follow YouTube’s rules, including its label for altered or synthetic content where it applies.

We never show a video you made in public examples, such as on our website, without your permission.

LongFormat uses AI to research, write, voice and illustrate your videos. We ground scripts in sources and show you each script before anything is produced, but AI can still get facts wrong or produce something unexpected.

Read your script and check the important facts before you publish. You’re responsible for the videos you publish and how you use them.

LongFormat is in beta and keeps improving. We may add, change or remove features, AI models and plans. If a change significantly affects a plan you’ve paid for, we’ll email you before it happens.

We work to keep LongFormat running smoothly, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors.

You can stop using LongFormat at any time, and ask us to close your account by emailing support email.

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, don’t pay, or put the service or other people at risk. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll warn you first and give you a chance to download your videos.

LongFormat is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises that it will meet your needs, or that what it produces will be accurate or fit for a particular purpose.

As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit, or your rights as a consumer.

You agree to cover claims, losses and costs that come from content you create or publish with LongFormat, or from breaking these terms.

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using LongFormat after that, the updated terms apply.

These terms are governed by the laws of country or state, and disputes are settled in the courts of city or region, unless the law where you live lets you bring a claim there instead.
