The cookies and browser storage Vidform uses: what it needs to sign you in and remember your settings, and a referral cookie only when you follow an affiliate's link.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser so it can remember things, such as that you’re signed in. Websites can also keep small notes in your browser’s local storage. This policy covers both.
Vidform only uses what it needs to work. We don’t use analytics or advertising cookies, and our pages don’t load third-party tracking scripts. The one exception is small and first-party: if you follow an affiliate’s link to Vidform, a cookie remembers whose link it was, so they’re credited if you sign up (see below).
2. Cookies we use
All three are essential: Vidform can’t sign you in without them. Vidform sets them itself, scripts on the page can’t read them, and they’re only sent over HTTPS.
| Name | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|
sorak_session | Keeps you signed in | 30 days, and it stops working sooner after 14 days without use |
sorak_2fa | Remembers a sign-in that's waiting for your two-factor code | 5 minutes |
sorak_oauth | Checks that a Google sign-in really started on Vidform, and remembers what you picked before signing up | 10 minutes |
3. The referral cookies
Only set when you arrive through an affiliate’s link (one with ?via= in it) or one of our own team’s links. Each holds that link’s name and nothing about you. When you next sign in it has done its job and is deleted: if your account is new, the affiliate or our team’s post is credited for it. Scripts on the page can’t read them, and they’re only sent over HTTPS. Any other site, ad or campaign that brought you is only kept in the open page’s memory, never in a cookie.
| Name | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|
sorak_via | Remembers which affiliate's link brought you | The program's link window (60 days today), or until you sign in |
sorak_src | Remembers which of our team's links brought you | 30 days, or until you sign in |
4. Other storage in your browser
The web app also keeps a few settings in your browser’s local storage. They stay on your device and aren’t sent to us.
| Name | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|
sorakvid:sidebar | Remembers whether you collapsed the app's sidebar | Until you clear your browser's storage |
sorakvid:voice-history | Remembers up to 20 voices you picked recently, so they're easy to find again | Until you clear your browser's storage |
5. Why there's no cookie banner
The cookies that sign you in and the settings in your browser are what Vidform needs to work, so the law doesn’t require us to ask for your consent first. The referral cookies are set only when you follow an affiliate’s or our team’s link, hold nothing about you and are gone once you sign in. If we ever add optional cookies, such as analytics, we’ll update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
6. Other websites
When you pay, you go to Whop’s checkout, and if you sign in with Google, you use Google’s sign-in page. Those sites set their own cookies, covered by their own policies.
7. Managing cookies
You can see, delete and block cookies and local storage in your browser’s settings. If you block Vidform’s cookies, you won’t be able to sign in.
